If you have a red exclamation mark in the top left of your plugin interface, or a "missing presets/samples" error in BT Phobos, you will likely need to perform a repair in the Spitfire Audio App.
Note: This does not apply to any Kontakt libraries, only those that are dedicated plugins.
Repairing a library will do 3 things:
1) Re-download and authorise patches/presets to your machine. This will NOT re-download any samples.
2) Automatically update your spitfire.properties file, which is a file that links the plugin to the library content.
3) Re-download the VST/plugin files.
Note: If you are Repairing LABS products, you can Batch Repair by following these instructions: How to Repair All LABS Libraries
How to Repair
1) Open the Spitfire Audio App and log in. From here, navigate to the library you'd like to repair.
2) Towards the bottom right of the App you'll see the repair button, click this.
3) A new page will prompt you to navigate to the library install location.
In the example below, I'll be repairing Felt Piano.
When repairing, it is important that you browse to the exact folder that the library is located.
4) Once you've browsed to the correct folder, select the REPAIR button.
5) This will begin a small download. You can monitor the progress of this by selecting the "Downloads" tab in the App. Once the download is complete, you're done!
Why can't I see the option to Repair?
If you cannot see the Repair button as listed in the above screenshots, it could be likely that your library is 'reset'. If this is the case, you'll need to select the small 'cog' instead to repair, as indicated below:
Another option here is to use 'Locate', which is good if you only want to re-write the spitfire.properties file, rather than downloading the Patches/Presets again too.
Why am I getting a "No Resets Remaining" message?
Each library has a limited number of resets, if you exceed this limit we will need to reset the library manually for you. If you have received the message in the image above, please contact support here.

Hans Zimmer Strings Repair Failed。Tip You dont Have any resets Remaining for this Library
Hans Zimmer Strings Repair Failed tooooooooo.
plz Developers..!!!!!!!!!!! plz try to use the repair function .........
Worked great for a Labs Amplified Cello Quartet repair! Cheers!
Hello everyone, I know there are problems with "reset" libraries. I had a problem with "reset" the Hans Zimmer Strings library after uprade Cubase 9,5 to Cubase 10 Pro. I was unsuccessful three times. Then I remembered the old rule: reset the PC. After resetting my PC, my new attempt to "reset" the Hans Zimmer Strings library was successful. Perhaps this my note will help someone.
Sincerely, Jan Holý
I strongly urge Spitfire to change the finite amount of resets currently build into the repair function of the Spitfire Audio app.
The library has lost the presets for me many, many times, but being able to repair the library has solved the problem. However, I'm currently sitting here trying to use Phobos with no presets to be found and no ability to repair my library because I've hit the arbitrary cap for the resets.
Please Spitfire -- remove this limitation. It's broken my ability to use the product that I own and paid for. It's put a halt to several productions that were using it because presets will no longer load and there's nothing I can do from this end to fix it.
And honestly, I can't seem to understand why a 'repair' option would have these kind of restrictions in the first place. Perhaps it's piracy related -- I don't know -- but, at the moment it's punishing a legal end user who is simply trying to get some work done.
Sincerely, -Stephan
Trying to repair Orch Swarm. Never got it work in the first place and gave up and forgot I had it. It doesn't appear in the "libraries" – "files" only and returns the message "This instrument belongs to a library that is currently not installed" when selected by either K5 or K6.
Launched the Spitfire Audio App (3.1.10) – verify's the library is installed although the repair button is not on either the main-page or the specific library-page.
Thanks!

PROBLEM SOLVED! I had to open Native Access, "add a serial #" (found on the invoice) and locate the folder. So I guess its always a two-step process:
• Spitfire Audio App – Install Product.
• Native Access – add the serial # for Kontakt.
I'll get it one of these days! Best to all at SA!
I recently tried to install some labs on my computer and the spitfire audio application crashes just before the install is finished. What do I need to do?
The main app work ok on my mac and my old windows 7 but crashes on window 10 will not stay open on downloads.
After 2 day testing on 2 laptops working ok , I put a clean copy of windows 10 on and now main app working .
cant repair any of my librarys.
i get You dont Have any resets Remaining for this Library
after i contact the support i get new resets from the support, i redownload (650 GB) many times.
and i get everytime ERROR #3
and i cant repair. i have this problem 3 month. and the support only let me reset the whole library. and then the same again.
BBCSO, HZ Strings, Labs, Epic Strings and Epic Brass
i really tired to do the same shit again. i paid 1000€ for this peace of *****
and you didnt have any chance to get your money back.
Hey guys, this works. But every few days I get error #1 again andI have to go through every Labs library to repair individualy. First this shouldnt be happening so often. And second. The Spitfire Audio should have a global repair button that where it can repair the whole thing so I dont have to go through each individual library
Im running Labs on a Windows 10 64bit OS with 24 Ram and 1TB SSD
Studio One 4.6
In the end, after much fussing and fiddling, I finally have to give up on LABS. Every single time I add a new expansion or simply do any update to the app it utterly fails to start and I get the depressing fail notice at start-up. I don't think I've actually used LABS, without any issues, maybe more than once or twice. I appreciate the gesture - free stuff is really, really nice (and generous), but surely only if your intended recipient can actually use it. *uninstalls*
Hi folks,
I have a issue with Studio Strings Pro!
just purchased and downloaded and re download because the DAW can’t make it to be working.
there isn’t any repair button in the SF app.
the support doesn’t answer my emails!
what do you do?
I'm going through the same issues. I don't have even provided the repair button on the Spitfire app. I only have the reset button available. Not cool and these libraries take forever to re download and install from their app. Not happy please fix the issue. I nonly have 14 days and I like the libraries and wouldn't want to return them since they sound phenomenal but please fix
Really poor installer - can't get any content or presets to load - a really odd an unintuitive system. The initial LABS VST worked great, but it has been shite since the new version.
Hi what if my computer break, can I authorize it again?
If you require further library authorisations, please contact support with the reason you require more resets by clicking the Help icon below.
This process is so terrible. Why do you hate your customers? I follow the process and now it wants me to download 90gb even though they are RIGHT THERE in the folder.
Hi David Comdico
You have potentially selected 'Reset' instead of 'Repair'. By resetting the library, you will set it back to uninstalled in your App. I have created a ticket for you so that our team can set the library back to "Installed" for you and support you with any additional issues you have.
All the best,
Angus
Hi Angus,
It's true that I potentially may have hit reset but I did not. From what I can gather from working with Stewart my problem resulted from using Carbon Copy Cloner. When I did a Finder copy things went smoothly. If this is in fact what caused my problem it should be noted in your documentation.
