Error 7 in BBC SO is not an error that causes any sonic implications to the library.
This error is a reference to missing content from an install, and it is triggered by mode switching between BBC Discover, Core and Professional.
When you mode switch from a preset in one of these libraries modes (i.e Core), that does not exist in the other (i.e Professional), the plugin will give ERROR 7 as a visual warning.
An example of how this would occur:
- You own BBC SO Core Piano and you own BBC SO Professional. You have both installed on the system.
You do not own BBC Piano Professional. - You have BBC SO Core Piano loaded in your session.
- If you mode switch back to BBC SO Professional using the mode switching feature in the top menu, it will try to automatically change to BBC SO Piano Professional (which is not installed as it is not owned)
- As this patch is missing, it can not be mode switched to and you will trigger ERROR 7 as a warning of what is missing.
The plugin will continue to trigger BBC Core Piano, but visually the plugin looks like Pro.
An Alternative Trigger:
ERROR 7 will also occur in this scenario:
You have BBC SO Piano Professional installed, but you do not have BBC Piano Core Installed.
If you mode switch the plugin to Core whilst the Piano Professional is the loaded preset, this will also trigger ERROR 7 as the core piano content can not be located.
A final note for BBC Discover:
Both of these scenarios apply to BBC Discover also, for example:
You do not own BBC SO Piano Core/ Pro but do own BBC SO Core / Pro.
You use BBC SO Discover for the Piano.
Error 7 will be triggered when you mode switch to BBC SO Core / Pro whilst the Discover Piano preset is enabled.
