Apple released Mac OS 12 Monterey on October 25th 2021 and at present we advise that some users can now update, however a Time Machine backup of the computer running Big Sur is still strongly recommended.
Spitfire Audio dedicated plugins such as our LABS, Originals, BBC SO and Abbey Road libraries are working without any known issues on MacOS Monterey, on both Intel and M1 Macs, however if you are running an M1 Mac please check whether a beta plugin is required here.
As of Komplete Kontrol 2.6.6. and Kontakt 6.7.0 Native Instruments products including Kontakt, Kontakt Player and Komplete Kontrol are now supported on Mac OS 12, the status of this can be found here.
If you are considering updating (or purchasing a newer Mac preloaded with Monterey) please also check your DAW developer's website to make sure that your DAW supports this new OS, notably Pro Tools is not yet supported (see here).
Please be aware if you encounter any issues on Mac OS 12 and are using a currently unsupported DAW such as Avid Pro Tools our support team will recommend rolling back to an older operating system, please be sure to back up your current system using Time Machine if you plan on updating so that you can easily roll back to your previous OS.
