Ólafur Arnalds Stratus contains a Convolution Reverb. A Convolution Reverb can load an Impulse Response (IR) file, which In simple terms is the sound of an acoustical space captured in a recording.
Stratus accepts both .WAV files and .NCW files.
Why do this?
In Neo Classical music, or Electronic music, IR files are often any recording, for example a recording of a fire.
By using these sounds as IRs you introduce unpredictable, atmospheric behaviour to your music.
How do I add IRs into Stratus?
- Open the folder Spitfire Audio - Ólafur Arnalds Stratus > Samples > IRs on your computer.
- In the IR folder, create a custom user folder called "c User"
- Add your WAV IR file into the c User folder
- Open Stratus in Kontakt - Load your custom IR from the FX page.
