Long Pizz?

Hi Timothy, can you explain in more detail what you mean? Our pizzicatos are as "long" as they can be in that they are left to ring out and not damped by the player - the longest being at the loudest dynamics.

Do you mean an articulation where the player continuously plucks the string to create a long articulation? If so, neither library contains this.

Hi Ben, thanks for getting back to me. No, I mean a pizz that is not prematurely damped. I don't know what to tell you, other than they are very audibly being damped. It's most noticeable at higher velocities. Is there a release sample which could be being triggered prematurely? Happy to send audio examples of what I'm getting. Cheers, Tim

    Hi Tim,

My sincere apologies, they are damped, I was wrong when I initially replied to you. We ask the players to damp the string as softly as possible. We have not recorded damped and undamped versions, but it may be something we consider for future libraries.

Thanks Ben. It seems like a strange choice to lock us in to one pizz length, but then EWQL does the same thing, so... Please do add sustained pizz (maybe with a release sample?). As a cellist of some 30 years, I can tell you that I play undamped pizz at least as often as damped.

    Cheers
