Nothing installing/unzipping properly - VST3 problem?

I can't install anything from the labs or the BBCSO plugin. The spitfire app  fails at the unzipping stage and often crashes when I try again.

It also fails to recognise the existence of my VST3 folder (red text + [DOES NOT EXIST] in the app settings). Which I think might be the root of the problem. My VST3 folder absolutely does exist. I've checked. A lot.

I get these errors in the log which I think are relevant:

2021-01-15 15:17:56.507108 [132524] [I] map 6512635: Unzipping - No write permission for - /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3

2021-01-15 15:17:59.517623 [132524] [I] map 6512635: privileged unzipping failed

Any ideas?

Macbook pro early 2015 running 10.14.6

  Ahhh solved it myself. Just found out there are 2 audio plugin areas - I didn't have a vst3 folder in my home/library only in my user/library
