Make libraries available
What I'm proposing is not exactly a "feature", but I think it might even be more important.
Also, I apologize for my "clumsy" English, I'm Italian...
We all know there's a huge presence of cracked software and libraries in the world. This is insane, it damage the companies and IMHO the music too. Ok, bad people will always exist, but there's a great "gray area" of people that would love to be on the right side, but doesn't have the financial resources to get there.
On the other side, in such a competitive market, it is very difficult to reach a prominent position without the right tools, so this is a "cat eating his tail" situation, if you see what I mean.
I abhor the use of illegal stuff, nothing of this kind enter in my computer, but I can't afford the purchase of something like Symphony Orchestra. Yes, I could buy BBCSO Core, but it's not the same thing and anyway it's about 450, which could be an expense you hesitate to do if you don't have a real case to work on (that you can't get without a quality demo, etc...) Here I'm talking about orchestra, but keep in mind a modern composer has to deal with all the rest, like drums, percussions, synth...
Someone talked about payment plans, but this is complicate because you can't have financial loans for foreign people, loans have to be prepared, checked, and tehy are not always given to anyone. Remember musicians are rarely rich, and hobbist rarely can spend big amount of money on their passion.
So I thought that a nice thing could be to split the libraries in smaller parts, with a much more affordable price. Maybe some basic articulations, maybe even separated instruments, and maybe some package with the "exotics" like Symphonic String's Brushed CS or Rachmaninoff Molto Vib.
In this way one could buy what it takes for his actual works, improve the quality, and slowly build up the entire library, without starving family and pets!
This could eventually be done with older (but still amazing and absolutely Pro) libraries.
Waves is doing this with plugins, a lot of offers and discount on single plugins, and you slowly build up the bundle you need, 30-50$ at a time. No need to look for cracked plugins in this case, it doesn't worth the risk. Or you may look at Valhalla: every plugin is 50$, amazing quality, EVERYBODY use them, from great composers to my friend who wanted to record some music for his family videos.
BBCSO Discovery, or the Originals, are good and interesting, but it's not the same. You spend 29€, get an amazing quality for the price, but you are not building a pro library.
I'm quite sure this would also raise a lot the income, as many passionate amateurs (as I am) would start buying bits of libraries to improve the quality of their hobbistic works.
Maybe I'm wrong, but maybe I'm right :-)
