    Hi Folks,

The BBC Symphony Orchestra library is recorded in the hall at Maida Vale Studios which is fairly reverberant, BBC Discover contains a mix which uses a mixture of close/spot mics as well as the more ambient mics so it is not possible to achieve a completely dry sound.

BBC Professional has all of the available mic positions available so that a much closer sound is achievable, but if you are hoping to achieve a particularly dry sound then it may still not be the most appropriate library in our range. For users looking for a drier sounding library for their mix I would recommend looking at our Spitfire Studio Orchestra range which is recorded in the much drier Studio 1 at AIR.

I think I may be having the same issue as you. I just posted about it. Basically to me everything sounds too resonant, like waaaay too resonant. I'm not sure if what I mean by resonant is what you mean by wet (sorry i'm not a pro by any stretch of the imagination)

It's very disappointing. I'm sorry that I can't offer any help, only commiseration.

    Same here.

I was puzzled when I turned the reverb knob all the way to the left and still heard a huge reverb. I still love this library, with so many great-sounding instruments for a very affordable price, but this was definitely disappointing.

A few minutes ago (before seeing this thread) I opened a support ticket to ask this very question. I'm a bit disappointed to see no one from Spitfire has responded to a question raised five months ago.
