In some cases, instrument files may get lost when transferring libraries from one place to another, or if an update has gone wrong.
If this happens, the best way forward is to re-download the library in question. It will ensure you will get all of the content you are missing.

Good evening,
Well, I get that in Silicon Valley, internet is on tap, but in the Clyde Valley, I have 1.2Mbps DSL or pay for 4G, so re-downloading all instruments after an update because they just all disappear is not a viable "solution".
Both the conf and properties files have the right paths and the patches, samples and presets are all in their places. Any other ways to get this working and make installed products appear under installed?
Kind regards,
Thomas on V3.2.16
Any luck Thomas? I have a similar situation - installation went south, samples are all still present on the drive, but when I try to "repair" or "locate" with the SA app, it tries to download the whole library and sample set. Download isn't practical at all - 550+GB for the BBCSO -that's why I bought the SSD.
Hello Hans,
Sadly, no. The lack of support reponse is also worrysome.
Are you saying that it won't reinstall from the installation SSD...?
This is really a strange behaviour for an installer, not an issue with Steinberg, NI, EW/CC or VSL to either use the local installer copy or to find the existing installed libraries.
I can't even guess why they would want their content distribution network to be hit over and over with the same hundreds of gigabytes of traffic, either.
Sorry to hear that you have the same issue!
Kind regards,
Thomas
I got quick response from support, and I've got my system functional for the moment. I don't know which library you're using. I only have the BBCSO. At this point, the Patches/Presets look "off" when I look at the file structure on disk - some updated to 1.2, some still at 1.0 - even though the SA app shows everything up-to-date. I hope to sort it out eventually so everything is where it's supposed to be.
Take care!
