Yes, we offer a 30% discount to students and teachers. You would be eligible for an educational discount if you are a student or educator currently at a recognised academic institution and can provide us with supporting documents to prove it.
How Do I Apply?
You can submit your request through this form on the Spitfire Audio website. You can select up to five libraries per request, but there is no limit to how many times you can apply for an educational discount provided that your supporting documentation meets our criteria.
The codes are linked to your account and to the specific libraries you have requested codes for. The discount can only be applied to single libraries and not to collections, as those are already discounted from the RRP of the single libraries within them.
What Documentation Should I Submit?
Students: a student ID card that has your name on it and an expiry date that is in the future, or an issue date that is within 30 days of your request. If your ID card is not dated you can submit additional documents alongside it to prove that you are currently enrolled, provided that they are dated within a month of your request or have an expiry date that is in the future.
These are some documents that would meet our criteria: upcoming class schedule, electronic or printed communication from the school/university, redacted tuition fees or loan payments, transcripts.
Educators: a staff/faculty ID card that has your name on it and an expiry date that is in the future, or an issue date that is within 30 days of your request. If your staff/faculty card is not dated you can submit additional documents alongside it to prove that you are currently employed by a recognised teaching institution, provided that they are dated within a month of your request or have an expiry date that is in the future.
These are some documents that would meet our criteria: upcoming class schedule, electronic or printed communication from the school/university, redacted paycheck or invoices, redacted contract of employment, live link to your staff directory profile.
Please note: the above documentation must be in your name, therefore match the name of the account it is requested from, as the codes will be generated for that specific person and the libraries purchased using that code will belong to the requester. You cannot request an educational discount on behalf of someone else.
Why has my request been declined?
If your request is declined you will receive an automated email, and a support ticket will be opened by the agent who processed your application to explain the rejection in more detail.
If you only receive an automated rejection email that is addressed as “Dear Customer” rather than your first name this means that your name is not visible on your account, therefore your application could not be processed and was automatically rejected. In this case please edit your account to include your name and apply again, or get in touch with us at spitfireaudio.com/support and we will be happy to do this for you.
Why is my code not for 30%?
Your code will not show as a 30% reduction if generated while the library you applied for is already at a promotional price. In this case the discount code will top up the existing promotional discount, and will be generated to match a 30% discount on the full price of the library. The educational discount will not apply if the library of your choice is already in a promotion and reduced by 30% or more.
How do I use my code?
Once your request has been approved you will receive your codes automatically via email. If you cannot see this email in your inbox please check your spam folder, or get in touch with us at spitifreaudio.com/support and we will be happy to help.
You can add your codes at checkout by pasting them into the "got a discount code?" field at the bottom of the page. You can add multiple codes for the relevant libraries in your cart at this stage.
Codes expire 12 months from the date you received them.
