If you have one of our Player Libraries you can add it via the Libraries tab in Kontakt and Kontakt Player. A quick way to tell if a Library is a Player Library is that you will have a serial number to register the library with NI.
*The method for adding Player Libraries has now changed with the release of Kontakt 5.6.8. If you have updated to Kontakt 5.6.8 then please see the instructions HERE If you cannot update and have 5.6.6 or older please follow the steps outlined below.
**If your library does not have a serial number or it states "Kontakt Full Required" on the product page then these instructions are not applicable and the library will instead be loaded via the files tab. If you are unsure if your library is a player library please see HERE
*** Please make sure you have NI Service Center installed for these steps.
Open Kontakt or Kontakt Player, navigate to the Libraries tab and click the Add Library button which is outlined in the image below:
Kontakt will now open a browser window. Please navigate to the folder named Spitfire XXX XXX Library where the XXX represents the library name. In our example we are adding the Fanshawe Earth Encounters Library so we want to locate the folder named "Spitfire Fanshawe Earth Encounters Library".
Once you have located your library folder, simply select the folder and click Open at the bottom of the browser window.
Once you have clicked Open you may be prompted to input your password as pictured below. This is the admin password for your computer, not your Spitfire or NI password. Once you have input this password, please click OK.
The Library should now be displayed in the Library pane in Kontakt but it still needs to be activated with your serial number. Please check your confirmation email for the serial number and make sure that you have NI service center installed. Once you have confirmed this, please click on the Activate button as shown in the image below:
Kontakt will now launch NI Service Center. If you are not already logged in you will be asked to log in, please take care to log in with the NI account that you wish to authorise the library for.
Once logged in you will be prompted for your serial number as shown below, simply copy and paste the serial number from your confirmation email and click Activate.
If you have followed these steps correctly, you will now see the message This product was activated successfully from NI Service Center. (Hoorah!) You can simply click OK and start using the Library.
