Why does library manager time out when logging in?

If Library manager times out whilst logging in, it is usually because the software is not being allowed to connect to the internet and can't reach our servers.

There are a number of reasons why this might happen including the following:

  • Your router firmware may be out of date, this is a known issue with the Netgear N600 
  • Firewall settings on your computer or router may be blocking Library Manager 
  • If you have a managed network you may need to contact your ISP and check that they aren't blocking any outbound connections. 
  • Some antivirus softwares (such as Bitdefender) also block download managers and will need a special rule for Library Manager.

If updating your router firmware and disabling any firewalls/antivirus does not allow you to connect, please contact support.
