When is the competition open for submissions?
From Monday 29th April 2024 until Monday 20th May 2024 at 23:59pm BST.
Who is Judging the competition?
Spitfire Audio will shortlist our favourite 20 entries, and Leo Abrahams will choose three winners.
What are the guidelines for your submission?
You need to download one loop from our website and make a composition from it.
It has to be between 30-45 seconds.
The loop has to be heard clearly and distinctly in your composition.
The composition brief is free and can be any style or genre.
What’s needed for a submission entry?
The composition must be filmed and posted on Instagram, you must use the correct hashtag #ShowMeYourPedalBoardComp, tag the influencer who created the loop and Spitfire Audio, and tell us which loop you used.
You must also go to our website competition page and fill in the google form (link) giving your name, email and link to your Instagram submission. This will confirm your entry.
How do I know whether my entry has been received?
You will receive an automated confirmation email once you have successfully completed the entry form. Make sure to toggle the ‘email my response’ option in the bottom left, this will also ensure you can edit your entry until the 20th of May if needed.
How do I know whether my entry has been judged?
Your Instagram submission post will be liked by a member of the Spitfire Audio team.
What is the prize?
A Spitfire Essentials Drive worth over £1k.
Can I enter with a private Instagram account?
No, your Instagram account must be public.
I don’t have an Instagram account, do I need one?
Yes, you will need to set up an Instagram account in order to submit to this competition.
Is my video being judged?
No, however the video has to be you creating your composition in line with our UGC guidelines and cannot contain any explicit or political visuals.
Do views and subscribers count?
Not at all, the competition is about your skills as a composer.
Can you give me feedback on my entry?
Due to the number of submissions we will not be able to provide feedback.
Can I collaborate on my entry?
We can only accept one entry per person and one person per entry.
Can I use my submission in my portfolio/CV?
You’re welcome to use your submission, providing you clearly state that it was for a competition and was not commissioned, or endorsed by Spitfire Audio.
Do I need to use Spitfire Audio sounds in my music to enter this competition?
No, you don’t have to include Spitfire libraries in your composition – but you must be the legal owner of any sounds, sample libraries, or virtual instruments you use.
Can I make reference to other scores in my score?
We cannot accept any entries that break copyright law.
